www.graniti-susec.hr redesigned

~ 26th February 2004. · 18:27 CET · permanent link · printer friendly ~

For the last few weeks I was pretty much occupied with www.graniti-susec.hr. Redesigned, optimized for search engines, improved some back-end functionality, tested and released.

Client-side has been made using XHTML 1.0 Transitional, CSS 2.0 and some behaviors (many thanks to Janos Horvath) for :hover emulation in IE.
Error pages made using Ian Lloyd’s excellent script explained at ALA. (update: Even though this is excellent script, I aimed for server-side solution, so now ASP page handles error 404, basically in the same way Ian explained). Programming made using ASP.

The client requested a very lean, clean and simple appearance that follows basic logo colors, without unnecessary details. For advanced user agents (Mozilla 5.0 and newer) there are two more alternative designs (not completely optimized and will be removed soon).

Alternative ("easy reading") style provides less graphics and larger scallable font.

Also many thanks to all for testing and comments at Webmajstori.Net.

Firefox made some action here

Firefox 0.8 made this site temporary unavailable. For code diggers - the content wasn’t shown, because HTML’s height wasn’t set to 100%. Yes, I know, I supposed to do that first time, but, hey, never is too late (at least at this kind of site) and also it warmed my brain cells a bit.

Some of the visitors may disagree with this “edggy” aproach (and I respect that), but this isn’t presentational website, it’s just my experimenting place.
