www.MirkoBeovic.com released..

~ 15th March 2004. · 18:33 CET · permanent link · printer friendly ~

Well, one thing is sure, It’s too late for me to jump in for this month’s version 2: redesign contest, but I’m more than happy to announce successful delivery of an artistic website www.MirkoBeovic.com.

It’s the online gallery of young, but very promissing Croatian photographer. There are five galleries: nature, people, places, animals and events. A joy to watch!

Website itself is very simple and minimalistic, providing basic information about the author, contact form and feedback via guestbook. Pages have been coded following XHTML/CSS standards (but of course!), CMS made with ASP.

Image Slicing alternatives?

~ 8th March 2004. · 18:31 CET · permanent link · printer friendly ~

Dave Shea wrote very useful article at ALA about link image hovering.

It works fine, but here again there is this IE 6.0 annoying flickering. In Dave’s example there is certain delay when hovering a link, so I’ve came out with modified example which has delay when removing pointer from a link (if interested take a look at the source).

Either way, the flickering is still here and I think it’s maybe just too early to use this technique in commercial websites (i.e. where the majority of the User Agents is still IE 6.0)

Draw me a sun with UTF

Did you know there is UTF-8 code for drawing of the sun? I didn’t and here it is - ☼ will draw a sun ☼ !
