Just Another News Portal

~ 2nd March 2005. · 11:22 CET · permanent link · printer friendly ~

24sata screen shot I know i’ve been quite mysterious about ‘the new project’ in web.burza. Our contract obligated us not to reveal any details about it in public. Well, today it became public itself—i’m presenting 24sata, new Croatian newspaper’s online counterpart.

Now, be careful with our baby and feel free to report me any trouble you might run into.

Expect more technical report soon : )

  1. To je to, napokon dobar portal na hr-webu. Doduše treba još vidjeti kakvi će biti tekstovi na njemu :)
    Čestitam, ovo je super.

  2. Thanks Vjekoslav! We are finalizing a few more issues regarding content formatting. The content is inserted into database directly from the newspaper publishing system, but needs a few checks before it goes live on the web.

The material is not really of our concern, but we would also like it to be credible news portal.

  3. Why the need for table tags up there?

  4. @dusoft: We decided to lay forms in tables for better cross-browser (including IE/Mac) support. Also, some includes are from 3rd party services, so we can’t do nothing about that.

  5. Very nice. Good job, man. Looks like this one is going to all the CSS design galleries out there… ;)

    I’m speechless. :)

  6. @Raven: Thanks for your compliments!

  7. Wow, a real, modern news site (if only I could understand it).

What I’m really interested in learning is how you did the 2-color SIFR and other new techniques.

  8. P.S. The 1024x768 is an interesting move.

  9. @Matt: Two-colored sIFR is a hack of our Action Script guru and it will be explained soon, hopefully.

Decision on 1024x768 was after analyzing target user groups.
